Shruti to play Sonakshi's role in Dabangg remake

Sonkashi Sinha received a grand welcome in Bollywood with her first film Dabangg.
Thus, when it came to casting for the Telugu remake of the film 'Gabbar Singh', director Harish Shankar wanted the female lead to suit the role perfectly. Actresses like Kajal Agarwal and Anushka Sharma were considered for the same, but finally it is Shruti Haasan who has bagged the role.
It is believed that Shruti has been offered the role but she is yet to give her consent.There's little doubt that Shruti will gain the same popularity Sonakshi did, if she agrees to be a part of the Telugu remake. Southern star Pawan Kalyan will be seen playing the title role of a fearless cop, while actor Sushant will be seen doing what Arbaaz Khan did in the original. The other cast of Gabbar Singh has been finalised too. The film, it is heard, will go on floors in August.
Reportedly, Pawan Kalyan was keen to produce the movie but later Ganesh Babu announced the film under his banner Parmeshwara Art Productions.
